The monthly government fuel duty cost billing component is a direct pass-through to the customer, with no added mark up by CUC, per kilowatt-hour of electricity consumption, of the cost to CUC for the government duties levied on the diesel fuel and lubricating oil used in the generation of electricity. Duty for diesel fuel and lubricating oils used in the generation of electricity is assessed by volume, rather than price, and is decoupled from the direct Fuel Costs billing component on customer billing statements. Government fuel duty costs are passed-though on a two-month lag basis and reviewed by the Regulator.
The current and historical monthly government fuel duty costs are available in detail on our website see, Fuel Costs.
