Additional Capacity Charge

The Additional Capacity Charge billing component is a base rate charge, applied per kilowatt of a Demand Rate customer’s Additional Capacity Requirement, by rate class.

The Additional Capacity Requirement is the largest monthly peak demand (in kilowatts) for the customer’s service recorded over a rolling, 24-month period.

For customers on Demand Rates, the Additional Capacity Charge provides for the costs of CUC’s reserve generation, transmission and distribution infrastructure, by rate class.
